Experience The Excitement In 2012

Joining Day is full of excitement,

Walking through the festival to join the ship... walkl up the gangway and and join the crew of the TS Pelican.

The crew will take you through our initial training programme, while the host port liaison officer will sign you up for all of the activities available.

Enjoy discovering new cities

All crew are invited to participate in the activities that are on offer in the host ports. These include sports, art and craft fairs, museums and local visits. Crew will be expected to take part in the crew parade - Pelican won Best in Crew parade twice during the 2010 season!

The ship will depart to the start line of the race, taking part in the Parade of Sail. Approaching the start line, the crew (that's you!) will get the ship under sail. Before the starter's gun, you'll be manoeuvring along with other ships, endeavouring to get the best start.

It's communications hour. We're 4th in class. We're talking tactics to see if we can beat our nearest rival.

Shipboard routine continues - cooking, sleeping, keeping watches, interwatch games and activities - as we settle into the rhythm of life at sea. Excitement builds as we race for the finish line, all the sails are trimmed and drawing well. With one last push the line is crossed. The race is over!  We head to our host port and a warm welcome.

Leave with new friends and a sence of achievment
