Where is Pelican? Just leaving Weymouth for the Tall Ships' Races!

What have we done today? We picked up our anchor outside Weymouth at 0200 and headed into the English Channel. Unfortunately the wind was coming from the south so we had to use the engine with two sails hoisted. The channel was very choppy so were unable to climb the rigging. On my watch from 0800-1230 we came into sight of the main shipping lanes along the Channel, seeing a couple of other ships. The wind was very strong but still not blowing from a direction that allowed us to procede soley under sail. After a lunch of vegetable soup we were able to relax on deck - a chance to do some sunbathing with several red faces as a result. We saw a group of 6 dolphins. They swan past the ship, leaping out of the water into the sunlight, an amazing sight. After our watch from 1800-2000 it was straight to bed ready to get up at 0400 the next morning.
